Because of the land and Nature through which pilgrims in the UK walk - the communities of people - the unique holy places - the historical traditions - and the pilgrimage infrastructure we enjoy (or don’t) - the pilgrimage traditions of these islands have always been distinct (as well as similar) to those of our European and global neighbours.
